Our Mission:
To increase investment in impact companies and organizations in Greater Philadelphia by accelerating development and awareness of Greater Philadelphia’s impact economy. We do this by:
Growing the impact investing community
Increasing the number of successful and growing impact companies
Increasing awareness among and participation by established companies
Strengthening connections and collaboration
Positioning Philadelphia as a national leader of the impact economy
Philadelphia is fertile ground for the impact economy.
That’s why its roots here are so strong.
Our local impact ecosystem is large, robust and expanding. We were the first city to offer special tax credits for sustainable businesses. We are home to B Lab and the B Corp movement — along with the world’s first and 50+ other certified B Corps.
Philadelphia hosts the most active chapter of Investors’ Circle, the world’s largest early-stage impact investing network. The Sustainable Business Network, founded here more than a decade ago by local impact economy trailblazer Judy Wicks, has served as a national model for promoting triple-bottom-line companies.
And this just scratches the surface. GoodCompany Ventures. The Reinvestment Fund. The Wharton Social Impact Initiative. The Philadelphia chapter of Net Impact. Private foundations like Barra, Kind, GreenLight and William Penn. All working together to think anew about business models and reconsidering the definition of a profitable business.
If you want to grow your impact, there’s no better city to do it than Philadelphia. Not convinced? Read the Growing the Impact Economy of Greater Philadelphia report.
